I don’t know about S-2 doing key control but every unit I’ve been in they are held at battalion or brigade Staff Duty in a safe there. Regardless, someone missed or didn’t think anything of it when the wrong person signed the keys back in on the DA 1594(Staff Duty log) and more importantly on the DA 5513, the key control log. Unless the murderer kept the keys and turned them in the next day when there’s a new crew on the desk. But that still questions why they didn’t see the names not matching up for the sign out and turn in.
This whole thing is an all around shit show that allowed this to happen.

"Warriors"
Out of every 100 men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets. Nine are the real fighters and we are lucky to have them for they make the battle. Ah, but the one...one is a Warrior, and he will bring all the others back.
