    Thanks GTF425.

In a pure luck happenstance, I met a SOF dude that had a spare Revision Viper P4 high cut helmet and he sent it to me to test out before I buy it from him. I've actually been wearing it around the house for about the last 2 hours with no real discomfort with the weight or pad/suspension system...although I may look into some different pads like the 4D to see if it makes it any better.

Weight with cover is just over 2.5#, so it's well within the ballpark on what a quality helmet should weigh based on what I've seen in my research.

It sounds like the dial system on the Revision is similar to the TW since it has a constricting band that runs along the temple, so I think helmet mounted ear pro is the way to go...plus there's not much room in there anyway since it fits me pretty snug (MD size).

I saw those come available but decided against them due to the weight according to the spec sheet. Even if I didn't have the Revision lined up, I would have waited for something else since they were almost 3.25#. That said, they supposedly include TW pads, so it should be comfortable. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts once you get it in...and if you can weigh it to check weight against the spec sheet.

I’m a little confused about which configuration it is since the description talks about both TW pads and the Occ-Dial and the spec sheet doesn’t mention the latter so we’ll see. That said, the weight for the high cut on the spec sheet is 2.77-2.9#. It’s not over 3# until you get into the mid and low cut variants.

Did you click the sizing chart and specs link underneath the main product page? Based on the description it comes with TW Zorbium pads and Ops Core chin strap. When you look at the full system weight on the sizing/spec sheet, it’s over 3 lbs. the shell only weight is 2.14 - 2.63 lbs depending on size.

I agree it’s a little confusing but I thought the OCC dial system was being called the “H-Nape” or “X-Nape”. Either way, all of the finished system weights are over 3#.

That’s why... I pulled it straight from Gentex and must’ve grabbed the standard TBH instead of the MC version with the NVG plate and rails. Bummer.
