Found my Dads medic pins from Vietnam era...

Dad was drafted in 1970 and got sent to Germany as a medic. We found these pins all together but I have never seen the two on the left with the alligator clips. They are missing some of the colored squares.

Any idea what these were for?

Your front and center ribbon is the National Defense Ribbon, to the right of the Medic and US pin is a Specialist rank insignia. As far as the leftmost ribbons, no clue. The mods will move this or delete it but good luck on the search.

The rear 2 look like a European melting pot. But not NATO.

Almost look like tie clips. Maybe flags of where he visited?

He did travel around while over there, so they might be some kind of non military clip on pin.

The colors that are on them are yellow, black, red, white and the green fell off of the better one, you can see it on the table in the pic.

The clip with two colors missing are long gone.

The clip on the right (red and black) is an Army of Occupation medal:

The one on the left (green, white and red) eludes me, but looks to be the European portion of the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal from WWII as well.
