Colt 9MM Carbine Build - Need Advice

Converting an original Colt 9mm carbine with A2 stock to the following:

    1. 10.5 in Rock River upper
    2. Collapsable Stock
    3. MLOC Forearm

Any ideas on where or what brand of #2 and #3 would be recommended?

Any "pro tips" on the Rock River upper?

    Thanks
    P

For #2, I’d check with BCM first, then Brownells for Colt parts. What sort of buffer/spacer do you currently have?

    3) keep in mind that 9mm barrels require a 1/2” shorter handguard than 5.56 barrels. So you’re looking for something 9”-9.25”. Zev makes a Wedge Lock in that length. No personal experience, but its what I would want to try if my 9mm was a 10.5”.

I like the RRA upper and have one that Adco drilled the NSR hole in for me. I know nothing about their 9mm barrels.

Is your buffer tube screwed in too far impeding the upper from being able to sit all the way down?

thanks all...Just had a local gunsmith install my BCM collapsable stock....

now it won't cycle after 1 round..If you open it and reassemble, you get one click..Any thoughts.

Also, anyone know of a great Colt 9mm carbine gunsmith in AZ?

    Thanks, P

    What buffer is being used?
What happens when it fires; does it eject?
What do you mean one click?

What are you doing with the CS stock?

I had my gunsmith install a BCM Collapsable stock on my Colt 9mm carbine lower. I then test fitted my Rock River upper.

After mating upper and lower, I was able to cycle the action and pull the trigger (click). I wasn't't able to cycle the action again (unless I pulled the rear take down pin, broke it open, then reassembled). After that I could cycle it again, click, and then the action was locked.

    Thanks, p

Are you currently using the same buffer that came in the Colt lower? It kinda sounds like the buffer is too long to run the gun.

Please, for the love of all that is unholy, tell me you didn’t let that “gunsmith” keep your takeoff stock.

Pull your BCG and lube the heck out of it. If it is tight, the bolt won’t rotate easily and can have the appearance of being locked up. Make sure you can rotate the bolt in the carrier by hand/fingers.
