Isn’t the real news with the Gen 5 .40, that Glock has designed it for .40 and added about two ounces of mass to the slide compared to a Gen 5 17?

And the only reason you get Gen3 is because California and their 'Roster'. Otherwise Glock would dump them in a heartbeat as well.

First, look at the weight and slide width of the G5 17.

Then look at the specs on the Gen 5 22, which has a thicker slide and weighs more.

Good. Hopefully it makes the 40 Glocks last longer.

Same here. My G22 is around 20 years old and still my go to.

    I'd buy a 40 cal Glock again.

Might not be a bad idea to have a .40 around given the current ammo weirdness.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

That's what our buddy's point was. If I actually shot pistols, that would work in my favor.

During the past few political scares, the last ammunition readily available on the shelves in my area was .40 S&W and 30-06. That is why I find it advantageous to own a M1 Garand, Glock 22 and a few 1903 Springfield's.

I agree for the most part, but that is all i have been seeing in local shops. Both FMJ's and all kinds of flavors of HP's.
