    Clone lower ?

Seemed like the best place for this thread. Mods let me know if this needs moved.

Forgive the possibly dumb question, but what is the best way to get a M4 clone lower? Wanting to repro my service rifle from Iraq and I have the upper already. Are there any sources for blank or lookalike Colt lowers that I can send off for engraving?

Not a vintage AR question. This forum primarily deals with M16A2 series back to the pre-Vietnam era M16s.

Right. This seems to be the only section of guys who get into cloning lowers beyond buying a 6920 lower. I've seen quite a few guys get nodak lowers engraved to match.

If you don't mind having to anodize and work an 80%, check out Atomic Engraving--they'll even add your old serial number for a little extra. My first thought was gonna be "get an Aero M4 lower," but then I saw "Colt specific."

If possible I'd like a Colt lower, a blank lower, or somehow be able to get a Colt logo. I'm not into the clone game but this one would be nice to have.

Turns out I'm too good of a friend and decided to gift my last LE6920 lower to a friend of mine shortly before I decided on this build.

If you're over on Arfcom, you might look up Braceman and see if he's accepting work again.

Or check these out, though you'll still need an 80% start-point:

One BIG change I would ask them to make is to delete the engraving that represents the third pin.

Colt should start with the full 6920s soon. Ik they have started shipping uppers. I am fine with my m4a1 stripped from psa, but I dont have to have the colt roll marks on. Yiu can also look at fn as they are the current contract for the m4a1.

Have they started shipping them again? Hadn't heard any recent news.

Actually, PSA happened to have their M4 marked stripped lowers in stock so I ordered on. I'd prefer the Colt roll mark, but I like that they stuck with the similar style and layout. I was doing an A2 on one of their lowers as well.

Thanks for the advice though guys!

This guy looks like he does legit work and apparently can rollmark instead of laser engraving. Maybe see if he does A2 profile lowers in lieu of an A1?
