    10.3 DD with A5 system

    Hello,
I built a DD 10.3 with A5 system. I bought a sprinco green and my setup does not cycle with any buffer. I tried everything from A5H0 to and H3 and nothing. It’s 556 loads. I am going to get a regular rifle spring but this is a frustrating moment for me. At DD they did explain that they use a regular carbine spring with a carbine H1 buffer.
This was after the fact that I had built what I explained above... this is the first time I have an issue with the A5. I need some help.

    Sounds like something isn’t right.

Try a carbine spring to see what happens.

A MK18 should run fine on a carbine spring and H thru H3 buffer.

I’m not supposed to put a carbine spring on an A5 buffer tube correct?

Correct, CAR spring and buffer requires the 3/4" shorter CAR tube.

Try a different bolt if you have one, built up a 11.5 once with all new parts that didn't want to run and swapped a BCG from another upper with a couple of hundred rounds on it and both have been 100% since then, go figure.

It's clearly NOT an A5 buffer issue. Does it seem OVER or UNDER powered?

I will check that right now. It would be the first time ever that I misaligned a gas block but there is always a first time. I do have a Ballistic Advantage gas block on a Daniel Defense barrel. That is the first time I ever did this. I built this with spare parts except the Barrel that I did buy. The BCG is a BCM.

So is it dual dimpled or just a single?

It is dual dimpled... I will go out and test on another lower and I ll get a regular Rifle Spring. I hope is not the BCM BCG. I had a bad experience with a BCM BCG once but I attributed to bad luck... but now I am wondering. I have other BCG for spare... I will keep you all posted. Thank you for your help.
