I’ve got an s3g in a LPVO gun and a sd3g in a SBR. Although neither serve HD roles I wouldn’t lose sleep over it if they did. Muscle memory will help.
This was with the gold spring. I get training will reduce doubles but as a duty or defense rifle for use in high stress situation, don’t think it’s appropriate.

Double clutching is easy with most light triggers if you ride the reset hard (ive done it with a mil-spec). I tried to talk several swat guys out of 3.5lb cmc triggers but no luck. Steve Fisher has a vid on the SD3G where he double clutches 12 to 15rds in 2 seconds in a BSA drill.

Damn, was hoping for a single stage. Not too big of a fan of 2 stage triggers, which is part of why I got an S3G, thought it would behave like a fast single stage. I might settle for an ALG.

What is not to like about a 2 stage trigger?

Seriously they give you both the forgiveness of smooth take up, and a nice trigger pull once you hit the second stage. If you’re in a hurry press through all of it smoothly and get your blaze on, if you need to make a shot at distance you can slow down and use that second stage to your advantage.

If you’re obsessed with split times, literally no one cares about that shit other than competitive shooters. If you’re competing in a speed oriented event by all means get an SD3G, if not it’s the wrong trigger for pretty much any other task. I had one, it doubled a lot unless it was on a heavy barrel rifle length gas barrel with an obnoxious brake that renders recoil nonexistent.

I had considered a sd3g actually twice now and both times I decided against because of this very issue. Its just sort of a thing with that trigger because its more or less designed for that. I usually decide against it because yes you can train yourself out of it but then going back to a regular trigger becomes problematic, I dont want to train on two totally different types of triggers.
