One more interesting sign of the times. My range had a fairly reasonable policy that they would sell you lots of ammo in popular calibers for practice, but not to carry out. You had to buy in packs of 100 for your range session, then if you shoot it up, you could buy 100 more. That wasn't so bad, for practice ammo in popular calibers, and it was clean-burning, decent quality ammo by this company Idaho Ordnance Factory.
Today I went to the range and tried to buy my 100rd pack of 9mm--oops, the quota has been cut to 50 due to the worsening shortage, it's even affecting the range buying in bulk now. So I had to come back 3 times during my range session to buy ammo, that gets a bit much, but ultimately, first world problems. At least we still can get practice ammo. I still have a good-sized stash at home but trying to use the range ammo as long as available, for practice. Makes you wonder though how long this drought is going to last.
