    Next Generation Squad Weapon testing

It always strikes me as curious that a weapon can go through years of testing by both the contractor and the user, and when it gets issued out to the field some unforeseen issue invariably crops up.

"At the beginning of our interview, Lt. Col. Bohannon confirmed that the technical testing of the NGSW prototypes is already underway. The tests began in the second week of June, at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Lt. Col. Bohannon said the technical evaluations will run through to August and encompass all the classic tests, including environmental tests for temperature, dust, water immersion, as well as drop tests, sound profile testing, accuracy, round dispersion, cook-off and endurance tests."

You need to get it into the field to get the truly gifted morons a swipe at it? I had an old boss that said I could screw up an iron ball. Strength, impatience, stupid - I've offered my services many times to people that though their stuff was idiot proof.

You have to have the "NG" in the names, or it gets awkward really quick....

How does a bullup belt fed work? In some ways I could see it drapping over bicep.... I get shorter, but not everything is better shorter, like buses. See paragraph one.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

This whole NGSW thing is only going to serve two purposes:

    1) Make sure the defense industry lobbyists get paid

    2) Lay the groundwork for potential future technology...maybe.

I'll eat my hat if these things become standard issue.

Why don't we just cut to the chase and say Sig wins everything forever.

I don't think anyone is winning this new episode of "find the one gun/one round that will fill the role of sidearm, assault rifle, marksman rifle, sniper rifle, squad automatic weapon, medium machine gun, long range antimaterial sniper rifle, and heavy machine gun...AND will do better in all those roles than weapons designed specifically for them...AND only weighs about two pounds."

I could, however, see Sig getting a contract over Colt to produce the next crop of M4s, however.
