The Wilson cloud is due to humidity and pressure(and heat), not the explosive. Larger explosions have longer lasting clouds (nuclear explosions in the tropics have the longest-lasting).

Still learning new stuff. I probably have a dozen phone book size military manuals related to NBC weapons but this is the first time I heard the actual name of the Wilson cloud (which I previously associated with the shock wave). Now I know what that actually is, did some reading on it.

Maybe someday I'll try and do the calculations of the energy delivered via the "rods of god" or the one ton ballistic shaped chunk of tool steel that Kelly Johnson envisioned being released from an A-12/SR-71 at Mach 3.5 from 80k feet, not today though, got to lay some prepreg on an aircraft antenna and cure it.

Yup, I’m hoping to get hired by them when I graduate in the spring. The commute for me out to their Palmdale location is about 90 minutes but I’d be down for it if I got to work on the cool toys. Same goes for Northrop Grumman, their secret squirrel stuff is out there as well.

Ironic that in a Boeing house, Kelly and Ben Rich were two of my boyhood heroes. Always wondered what KJ coulda done with a pair of handed Merlins in a P-38... ditto the team at Northrop re up-engining a P-61 to the last and best R-4360 corncobs.

I have a few books that I've read each at least once, Flying Wings of Northrop, Ben Rich's book on Skunk Works, Area 51, a book about X planes and crashes. Lots of great engineering information in all of them. I've long thought a cool idea would be taking a big belly B-52 or something with an even larger payload capacity and stuffing it to the max with small diameter bombs, even if you assign two or three bombs per target that's still a very large number of targets capable of being hit practically simultaneously by a single bird.

I always wondered why the Bikini Atoll explosions always looked different than the ones in Nevada.

Back in '02 I actually pitched that to a contact in the B-52 program office as part of a "BUFF 21" concept a prof and I worked up... even Dale Brown woulda called it "next-level stuff."

Could you, or someone who knows about these sort of things explain why the videos are fake, please? I honestly can't tell.

But the filter they applied to try to make it look like OH is pointless as it just changes colors does nothing to change relationship of colors or contrast or gamma etc...

The frames per second or FPS of the fake missed and the explosion seem to not match up at all on top of that the FPS in a video of this type could never capture a inbound missile unless the guy just happened to have a high speed video setup on that on a tripod and knew it was coming in etc.. and then again the problem was the actual video does not support this

My best analogy would be antiques a trained dealer could spot fakes where many of us cant

Think of it as someone throwing a baseball pitch and they slowed the ball down to show how the bat hit it but they did not slow down the bat or vice versa you know from taking video if you have of someone throwing a ball the time it takes to come to the batter is quick and your camera only records so many frames you can do this with a iPhone and do normal then slow mo

The gamma is way way off meaning the pixel value and luminance (in quick terms the contrast of the two) this is the hugest give away to me second to the speed not matching
