One article I was reading had quotes from a former ATF explosion investigator, and he said that Ammonium Nitrate usually had yellow/golden brown smoke, not red/pink. Not that that means it was not Ammonium Niitrate, but that it may have had other stuff mixed with it or burning with it.
Another article originally was saying "Sodium Nitrate" was being stored / had been confiscated. Wikipedia says this is often used for fertilizers, pyrotechnics and smoke bombs, and sold rocket propellant (amongst other things).
Hopefully they can get a variety of "experts" from outside of Lebanon in to look at things (residues, etc).
