Trijicon sues Holosun (patent infringement)

I'm no patent lawyer, but it seems possible that a bunch of other companies beside Holosun might be suspect also. After trying to read Trij's 541 patent...I'm not sure what got stolen either.

Could it be the fixed, upwardly extending arm disposed proximate to an end of a firearm? No, wait, that is one of the things they are trying to replace.

For context I currently own 1 Type 1 RMR, 2 Type 2 RMRs, 3 SROs and 1 Holosun 407. I have previously owned 5 other MRDS.

I would 100% take shake awake over Trijicons shitty forced auto adjust after 8 hours which doesn't play nice with WMLs.

Holosun batteries last just as long as RMRs (2032 variants).

It is a pain in the ass to rezero multiple weapons every year, especially rifes as I can't just swing by the local indoor range. When you're maintaining multiple weapons it just makes things simpler.

I think you need to pay attention to online deals.

I buy my Type 2 RMRs at ~$400, SROs at ~450.

I bought my 407 at $170. I routinely have found them on sale (pre-covid) for $180 for friends and students. If you want the dual reticle of the 507, I've seen them for as low as $220.

Another issue that is lost in this is why are Trijicons NOW $400? I recall when first introduced that an RMR was $600 plus or minus. They are likely $400 now because you won't sell many at $600 when people can substitute a $200 product that does essentially the same thing.

As far as Holosun as a product, check out Aaron Cowan, Sage Dynamics review on Youtube of the 507 on pistols. He runs RDS as hard as anyone and the 507 is still running strong. You are seeing more Holosun dots on major trainers weapons all the time, sorry thats how it is....

Trijicon manufactures in the US, employs US citizens, and strongly supports the 2a and our military. Holosun and other junk Chinese companies steal tech and market share. IP exists for a reason.

Your comment reeks of classism and socialism. Why would any company lower their prices? This is business, not an altruistic endeavor. It’s not like trijicon gouges it’s customers. People are free to buy foreign-made turd optics if they do choose. But those turd optic companies cannot infringe on IP.

I have one RMR 01. Got it in 2017 on sale at Cabela's for $261, including a standard and riser mount for an AR platform. I don't know about the Chicom Holoson being just as good as Trijicon. Sounds like it should be a companion thread to PSA just as good as Colt.

RMRs don't have shake awake or solar cells because they don't need them.

ETA: And you don't need sideloading batteries or top-loading batteries if your batteries last a year or longer, like they do in RMRs.



A Holosun is c. $300. An RMR is c. $440. If your math works out that 300=0.5(440), you should have been paying better attention in school.

RMR’s don’t have Solar power either. They’re obsolete! Get over it, as should they/Trijicon.

Like I said. The Holosun is a superior product. Just like when you, or others go get a TV, Car, or even a blender, you GET THE SUPERIOR PRODUCT! Look around your own home, and tell me what’s inside that’s NOT made in CHI-NA? Even the Phone/PC your ranting on about this is made in, you guessed it, CHI-NA!
Talk to the Presidents of the past whom created this problem, if you feel like digging them up.

It’s not even that serious for me. Because I own several Trijicon’s, and Holosun’s as well. The latter when I realized they were superior to Trijicon’s RMR’s. Trijicon are the ones triggered. Including those on this post crying about CHI-NA products, when most products in their homes are from, CHI-NA.
