I am with you there @Greg Bell . I love my SP5, I just hope to get the pdw to match it one day.

The sp5 is on my want list for sure. I should have bought one back in March when they were 2700ish.

I kinda hate MP5s (I’m an UMP man. Lots of time behind both) but actually the PDW kinda makes sense to me. Too bad it will never be select fire

Why? The UMP is a grease gun. I got rid of mine. I get if you like simplicity or the lightweight. But for actually pulling the trigger the MP5 is better in every way.

I have a SP5K on consignment on GB...embarrassed to say I know nothing of the variants nor very familiar. What makes this one different??

Don't get me wrong, I'm a gun guy & people look funny at me for the $$$ I spend on my wide variety of flavors, but don't see the appeal albeit cool.

It’s easier to maintain, easier to put on optics, and it just felt better.

Now aside from qual, I never messed with full auto much and the trigger never bothered me but it was compact and handy esp in 45.

Even in semi only, I can run that 45 on semi like Satans Sewing Machine.

I still get vexed by people who think the MP5 is better. I mean it’s okay I guess but meh

My favorite is the BT TP9, I shoot it now more than the MP5K.

I come from a place where if it isn't belt fed it is semi auto only.

Logical. I like the PDW because of the 90s video game vibe but at days end that’s 3 large for a big pistol with a heavy trigger.

TP9 is a bit easier to swallow.

It’s ultimately a Steyr SPP which in and of itself is a TMP which is really a G18 with extra steps.

They’ll never (legally) go BRRRRRTT so really it’s more economically sound and not quite as larpy because I use my “toys” for hogging.

Have both and while I did the .45 HK, I will always grab the MP5 first. The UMP is a bit big and clunky, doesn't seem to feed as reliably and mags are huge. It's not as horrible as the G36 and it does bring some improvements but I'm not sure it's better. The lift gate QD suppressor mount is interesting, but not sure it's superior to the 3 lug mount.

The UMP is a lot of interesting ideas, but I think a MP5/45 patterned after the MP5/10 - MP5/40 would have been superior.

The stock trigger on the TP9 must go, replace it with one of the Custom Smith triggers.
