FYI, ArmsUnlimited has euro model SP5K (not the Navy 3-lug/threaded barrel) for $2995 with free shipping. That’s the best price the you’re going to find anywhere right now.

You can always add a three lug. And the best part is... You will actually have the gun. No decades later, shoulda/coulda/woulda back when they were cheap/legal/available.

Anyone been finding these coming for sale anywhere? I have the feeling that the window for imports is going to close. That would leave the Palmetto versions, but those guys better get off their asses or else all that R D is going to be wasted because they won’t be able to sell due to some restriction.

I can promise you the PSA version will be a complete headache.

PSA version is going to be a turd. Not even using proper HK spec diopters. Hard pass.

If I HAD to go domestic clone, I think I'd go PTR 9mm before I'd even think about another. I have no firsthand experience with them, but at least they know a little about how contract guns are actually made.

It's a shame more of those POFs didn't manage to flood in, they were priced right and would have been at least as good as the worst clone. Glad I snagged my MKE's when I did, sounds like everything coming in the past few years is problematic at best and considering how much they are charging compared to a factory HK gun, well...you'd have to be crazy. Even more laughable are the domestic clones selling for "near" HK prices.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

If I had to go with a clone, I think I’d roll my own with a flat and German parts kit. Re: US clones selling for near HK prices, I agree. Two come to mind, both of which are made from RCM parts. No matter how much attention to detail, they are still just RCM parts. At $1200, maybe. Any higher, nope.

Who's good or who's bad for parts like mags? HK versus clone? I can only get 15rnd mags shipped to me.

Next up on the list for my gun. Don't know when, but wanted to get some.
