Should LGS’s and FFL’s refuse transfers based on ideology?

Disregard for a moment the fact that one cannot usually tell what beliefs a person holds based solely on their appearance.

For arguments’ sake, let’s say that they’re wearing a button, or their car has a Bernie or BLM sticker, or they outright tell you they’re pro-socialism: should a gun store refuse the sale?

One thing that has become clear with the rise of cancel-culture is that Ideology/worldview is NOT a protected trait under the civil rights act. Religion, yes. Ethnicity, yup. Immigrant status, yes. Sexual preference, yessir. Conspicuously missing is philosophy/ ideology.

So what say you? Give them a taste of their own medicine by legally refusing sale of firearms to newly-worried or newly-militant leftists? My take? Poetic justice for trying to screw gun owners all these years, that they should not be able to get their hands on weaponry when THEY finally want to. F#ck ‘em.

It’s actually some sun tzu-level brilliant tactics:

    • Leftists are refused gun sales due to their politics.
    • They petition politicians to amend the CRA to include protections for ideology.
    • Boom. No more job terminations or meals refused or twitter bans for MAGA hat wearers.

Are we past the point of taking the high road? I think a large percentage of us are.

What you are suggesting is morally and ethically wrong. Doing it because almost everything the other side does is wrong bothers me. I don't want to stoop to their level. I won't mind shooting them in the face when the time comes, but I want to know I did everything I could beforehand to save their lives, as Steyr so succinctly put it. Playing their stupid games and giving them a taste of their own medicine in the way you suggest does sound fun, and there is certainly a perverse irony in it, but I'm not there yet.

On the other hand, I can justify a private business owner refusing a sale to someone who voted to ban the item they are trying to buy in my mind. Like a prudish Republican who voted to ban medicinal marijuana and now wants to buy it to ease the suffering of their dying parent.

I'm torn on this one. On one hand, I look down on them with disdain for their Anti-American behavior, and I'm glad I'm not like them. On the other hand: F*** THEM!

I've been saying this to these socialist scum at work. They denounce American values, call our founding fathers racists, actively talk about seditious behavior.

Now their tune is slightly different. They want advice from me about how to buy a firearm etc. NO.

These people will "use" the 2nd amendment against the United States. Doing that is actually the opposing the idea of a free state, so it's anti 2A

I say, if you can choose to discriminate against these scum then do it. But make sure of their intentions first.

I'm not in the gun business, but I bid work much higher for people like that. Since they know the price up front, they can't say they're being overcharged if they agree to it. If they don't, they're welcome to go elsewhere.

At that point you're punishing their dying parent, not the person who voted against it.

Didn't some Lefty-owned restaraunt ask some Republican lawmakers (or maybe White House staff) to leave? IIRC, this was Virginia or Maryland?
