    Armatus II Sizing

Looking at buying a LBX Armatus II plate carrier. I use medium plates, but the sizing of the carrier is a bit confusing on their website.

    Medium Armatus sizing:
Small SAPI Plate; 8.75” x 11.75” SAPI Single Curve; 1” thickness
Medium SAPI Plate (recommended); 9.5” x 12.5” SAPI Single Curve; 3/4” thickness

    Large Armatus sizing:
Medium SAPI Plate; 9.5” x 12.5” SAPI Single Curve; 1” thickness
Large SAPI Plate (recommended); 10.125” x 13.25” SAPI Single Curve

Is that saying the medium will fit small plates, but recommend medium, or is it saying small for the front plate/medium for the back.
And on the Large, medium plate up front, large in the back?

Measure your plates, even though they are medium I'd bet they are closer to the size the carrier lists.

    Thanks for the response.

    My plates measure 9.5" x 12.5", thickness is 0.9" or 24mm.

Mostly worried I should get a large carrier due to the thickness being more than the recommended 3/4" for medium.

I just looked at their description and it's as clear as mud.

What brand plates do you have?

That is tricky, I have a medium 6094 that fits a multi curve plate and as long as they use a similar pattern for the Armatus, the medium should work.

It means the Medium is a medium, sized to fit Medium SAPI plates, BUT will also fit small.
And the Large is a large, sized for Large SAPI plates, BUT will also fit a medium.
I really don't know why they felt the need to specify that; it's kind of a "no shit Sherlock" thing. Obviously if you have a large box you can fit a smaller box in it...
The only thing I can think of is either A) they just wanted to make life complicated for everyone, of B) maybe there is some sort of riser straps, or more height adjustment in the plate pocket closure flap that allows the smaller plates to be 'snugged up' in the carrier so they will fit without sloshing around?
Who knows. Maybe try contacting them if your not sure.

But if you have Medium plates, you should get the Medium carrier. That way you'll ensure they'll fit nice and snug.
