My problem with all the bikes listed by the OP, is they are all old technology.

I would think of a Husky 701 in either enduro or super moto, or have one bike and 2 sets of tires and wheels.

    Also the KTM 790 Adventure.

I'm tempted to get another scooter & would roll more along the lines of an enduro & add minimal lighting to be road legal as I would spend most the time in the dirt.

If I wanted to hit the open roads this would be my crossbreed of choice.

I have that setup for my KTM 350 EXC and it is a royal pain to have to change tires based on where you want to ride. Which is why I bought the 1190R to use on the street, relegating the 350 for mostly dirt only purposes.

I had an XR 200 years ago, great bike but not enough power to go on roads where speed limit is 50mph+.

They are older but they are built tough and they still make parts for them.

The newer 250s with fuel injection are not the 250s of years ago.

As to your second point, ABSOLUTELY. I’d rather an older, proven bike, with plenty of aftermarket support than some of the new ones.

My KTM 350 can get up to 75 on the highway but it is screaming pretty loudly at that speed in 6th gear.

I had a Kawasaki KLR 650 for a couple years, bought it used, paid like $1500 bucks for it, great bike got great mileage also and more than enough power for anything you would want ! KLRs have a cult following, just look them up, tons of info, updates & quick fix's for them. Also tons of aftermarket goodies, at least there was. I rode it a couple years and really figured out I wasn't a "bike" guy so I sold it and bought more gun stuff,,LOL !
