How do you like the PDW brace? I’m slowly working on getting a pistol build myself, and I see a lot of the PDW braces but I’m not sure what they offer over something like an SBA3.

I got it back when it and the maxim defense versions first came out, before a lot of newer braces. I chose it because I didn't want a Shockwave blade, I like that you can still stand the rifle on the butt, didn't want the QD points on the cheekrests of the maxim, it was cheaper, it doesn't rotate, doesn't really wobble much at all, and still uses a standard carbine buffer and action/recoil spring (can also be a con if you're going as compact as possible). The reports of the rubber giving way easily are exaggerated IMO, as even when the get beat up in use, they pop back to place pretty well and it doesn't really affect shouldering (for me at least).

Would I choose it today? Honestly, I don't know. It was a hot shit impulse buy back then. But back then there was this, maxim, shockwave, tailhook mod 1, the press fits, or just tube.
