Lead bullets vs barriers such as windshield glass, steel, building materials etc?

How does say, a 158 gr LHP or SWC bullet perform through these barriers compared to a JHP?

Or say a lead, rounded flat nose .40 or .45 acp or similar.

Let's exclude "hard cast" so I'm talking 12-18 BNH.

And let's assume under 1100 fps.

Do they flatten or come apart considerably easier than a bullet with a thin copper / zinc jacket?

I partly ask because my favorite .38 load is a BNH 12? 160 gr LHP @925 fps and I'm working up a 180 gr .357 mag load to the same velocity. Actually I have, but haven't fired much of it yet.

The old .357 mag Federal 180 gr SJHP always did great at @950 fps in my amateur testing.
