Kyle is in deep trouble, but I think the hardest thing to beat is going to be his age and obtaining the rifle. The self defense aspects shouldn't be hard if his lawyers pull the violent videos and show that even police weren't willing to be in the midst of the action without an armored vehicle and squad off a tactical team. Darken the court room to set the mood, and then loudly play the videos of "inner city youths" screaming to kill people. Its simple to show the persons shot supported the violence, and were acting things out to a level equaling deadly force.
Yep. It’s going to be rough with regards to his obtaining the rifle and carrying the rifle as a minor and resident of another state.

And that is a shame because as I saw mentioned in another venue in the last week, if it weren't for 17 year olds willing to pick up a rifle and fight thugs intending their fellow citizens harm we would still be English.

I wholeheartedly agree. Shall not be infringed is also an important consideration.

I confess to revisiting this thread periodically just to see the Communist guy’s blown-up arm.

This is the kind of person that will be on the jury. So much head-trash.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

I think a symptom of many of the troubles with modern America is that we don't view people avoiding jury duty the same way we view people avoiding the draft.

I'd have no intention of obliging either jury duty or a draft. No respect for our legal system and not wasting my time, nor would I fight some politicians battles for them. So I have no issue with anybody skipping out on either.
