    Russia unveils 5.56mm AK-19

Wonder if this will make a big splash or not?

If they can find a way to manufacture it in Vietnam, India or Bulgaria, and import it as a pistol, it will be a huge hit :-)

Heck, I‘d be down with an AK-15 or AK-12.

I don't know about sales worldwide, but they could sell the snot out of them if they could import them in to the US. Perhaps Kalashnikov USA will made them some day.

Funny, because PSA just released 20 AK-74 units today.

It reminds me of an IWI Galil ace 556 for some reason (Would definitely buy one if they were available here)

So Russia has invented the Galil.

Welcome to 1974 you commie bastards.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    WooHoo.

Had a Galil with Armson OEG (yeah, Cutting Edge) in mid/late 80's.
    Was/were they reliable? Sure.
Manual of arms, like all AK variants was not intuitive/ergonomic, accuracy mediocre. Repeatable hits to 200 were the norm, but that was about it.
Good luck with parts availability (then).
    Went back to AR system.

They may sell a bunch due to the "exotic factor" (lot of Spetznaz Operators out there), I see it as a Giant step backwards in comparison to what the AR has developed into.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

Russia has had to contend with the fact that the Finns and Israelis greatly improved their pride and joy and to this day they can't stand that fact.

If it's not crazy expensive I wouldn't mind having one as a truck gun.
