    S&W 1911 question?

A friend of mine has a NIB one from about 20 years ago. It's silver in color, and has never been fired! Are they good guns, and what would it be worth?

    I didn't know S&W made 1911s 20 years ago? Is that a typo?
They had no right to win. Yet they did, and in doing so they changed the course of a war...even against the greatest of odds, there is something in the human spirit - a magic blend of skill, faith and valor - that can lift men from certain defeat to incredible victory.

They didn't make 1911 style guns 20 years ago. IIRC, it was either 2005 or 2006 when they started making the SW1911's.

    Perhaps it's a 645 or 4506? The 645 (and the SA 745) was S&W's first .45acp semi-auto pistol. They were good guns.

I don't pretend to be an expert on S&W's, so I thought I'd ask.

20 years ago would have been the S&W 645, double action .45 ACP made famous by Sonny Crockett in Miami Vice....

i believe Sonny carried a couple of different handguns; probably because even the fake, Hollywood BrenTens wouldn't work

    Nice Bren Doc!!

Actually, he carried both, first few seasons the Bren 10, then they switched to the 645 for the last two seasons....

    Anyway....

ARPatriot....parts are probably not going to be all that easy to come across for them. You might try Nurmich Arms.

    What parts do you need?
