    Recent purchase 9mm Sig P220.

No box, 3 mags, but in very good condition. I got rid of most the paint second pic, but still a very slight telltale silhouette left first pic. JB should date it 1981, and there is no import markings.

I had a similar one but dated to 1977. It was imported Geneva Switzerland police surplus. If you go to the Sig pic thread and back about 6 years, it's in there

Very nice pistol, in extremely good condition. What do you mean by "paint" that you got rid of?

Blow up the second picture and you can see B72 painted on the frame. The first picture shows where I scrubbed most of it off.

I can barely see it, but yeah. That is still a wonderfully nice pistol. I have 3 German SIGs, and I envy yours. I'd love to add both a P220 and P225 to my collection.

    Are you gonna shoot it?

I don’t think there is a reason not to shoot it. Most collectors want the original box. I don’t know the history of this gun, the B72 might have been from an armory numbing system.

One of the best shooting guns I have owned. Could not find mags for it and is not supported by Sig. nice find.

Get extra roll pins for the slide if you shoot it much. They're getting tough to find.

That's very cool. I had a later P220 (the W in W Germany is overstamped) in 45 ACP and have a P6 now. Both were police surplus. The 45 went to my oldest son.
