Problem with charging handle...

I have an AR pistol with an odd problem. When I retract the charging handle (Vltor) it bumps the brace pretty hard. I have to lift it a little to get full retraction. Brace is a Tailhook....

I have an AR pistol with an odd problem. When I retract the charging handle (Vltor) it bumps the brace pretty hard. I have to lift it a little to get full retraction. Brace is a Tailhook....

Two things immediatly come to mind.

1: Get a longer pistol receiver extension (check out KAK as an example) to move the tailhook back a bit?

2: Try that silicon shoulder gasket charging handle blowback trick along the receiver extension where it meets the tailhook to create a ramp?
