Hm... ok, those are good points and good feedback, thanks guys. It may be the U210s for me after all then.

As for Antifa... that's a valid concern, but at the same time they're all either too skinny and weak to carry an actual loadout, or too fat and out of shape to move quickly enough to be effective. Plus, we have God on our side.

Thinner plates may need a backer/pad to not move around in the bag. Maybe I'm wrong?

Plates <1" and swimmer/shooter cut in the front are good to go IMO.

Shouldering issues usually arise from coverage by SAPI/ESAPI. Shooter/swimmer ameliorates that issue. I've yet to encounter a plate thats <1" in those cuts that impedes shouldering.

Whatever works for you; just don't buy shitty plates.

The local gun show last weekend had a few "folks" buying plates and carriers...of course they were buying gun show vendor stuff so I am curious on the quality...

Probably depends on the bag. My VS carriers have an adjustment strap inside that help keep it toight.

As far as front and back thicccness, may not be as noticeable if you have a swimmer cut but as soon as you stack mags and other shit on the carrier, bet it'll feel bulky.

My Duritium GT 2s arrived today. Very impressive, light weight, stops almost all common threats. Very happy I have them in hand.

I can shell out for the thinner U210s, but I was hoping for the M80 protection the 3810s offer.
    Get the 3810s.
Sell them to me if you hate them; I'll HAPPILY take another set.
Especially since I kinda got the first set by accident... big F*** yeah for Saber Solutions/Hesco. Didn't even bat an eye upgrading me to those at no extra cost after a site error allowed me to order the old 3610's.

    Ok, so here's my philosophy on plate thickness;
How fat are you and how much do you intend to stack on the plate? No seriously...
My old VS ICW plates were 1" total, the current 3810s are pretty close. BUT, I'm pretty thin, and I don't notice. Like, I can wear them in a slick carrier and conceal them under a flannel shirt pretty well. I have a placard type setup that is rifle mags w/ pistol mags stacked. I do not feel "fat" or excessively uncomfortable when prone; can still get behind my gun without contorting my neck.
That being said, for some reason I can tolerate stacked pistol mags on a carrier, but not double rifle mags up front. Go figure...YMMV
NOW... if you are a big barrel-chested operator, OR have a bit of a 'patriot gut', yeah... you're going to want to get thinner plates, OR get brutal about trimming down your front-side loadout.

But I mean...that's just my theory.
It kinda comes down to 1)body profile, 2)more likely to use overt or covert?

I'm in shape, no gut, and 1" plates are fine for me. Train in 'em plenty, prone, IMTing, no big deal. You get used to 'em.

Single row of rifle mags. More would be annoying.

Received Hesco U210 today after 10 week order-ship, very impressive plate, comfortable and light.
