Dr. Carter G. Woodson, “History shows that it does not matter who is in power or what revolutionary forces take over the government, those who have not learned to do for themselves and have to depend solely on others never obtain any more rights or privileges in the end than they had in the beginning.”
You are excused from this thread, sir.
Some notes:
-It does seem kinda pointless to do this without the original, Cyanide producing, earth-killing Tenifer glossy finish. But hippies and the EPA ruined that for everybody who actually matters.
-Depending on handsize, the finger grooves can dig and be annoying.
-The 3 pin(incorrectly referred to as “two pin”. The gun is already 2 Pin) is very much a result of the .40. The gun functions fine even with cocky 9mm +P+ loads. .40 Glocks have always been the most problematic model. Had they used a G20 frame then it might be different.
-In a way, this may well be the only way for younger people to see what entranced the “early adopters” of the Glock. Gen 2s on the resale market are usually Police surplus and can be totally gnarled and rough. A simple, honest Glock. No frills. No extra.
I’m sure people of a certain age remember VIVIDLY the stigma Glock used to have. That it was unsafe, it was cheap, it was a “White boys Hi Point”, it could go through metal detectors, some cop in Miami shot himself in the butt bending over because of the “double trigger”, it would blow up on you for no reason, etc etc etc.
But now with 40 years of proven worth, and the fuddlore soundly dispelled, people seasoned or new can enjoy the total Zen of a good, simple Glock.
Depending on the Blue label price; I may actually get one. I have an old Glock that I simply cannot shoot anymore. It was given to me by a dear friend and mentor whom is no longer here. It was the Glock that got me into Glocks. At that time, I was very much a Gen 3 S&W person solely due to it being what I was issued. His was the Glock that changed my mind. It sits safely tucked away. And I wouldn’t mind a new gun of same spec to create new memories with.
Gen 5s are great. And the right answer. But I didn’t spend the late 90s or early 2000s shooting a Gen 5.
Sometimes a gun is more than a gun
Well .40 is an abomination that never should have existed so there’s that

Disclosure: I am affiliated PRN with a tactical training center, but I speak only for myself. I have no idea what we sell, other than CLP and training. I receive no income from sale of hard goods.
Some have it for $559.
