I went with two separate uppers on my "AR10" build; 16" Criterion .308/1-8X glass, 22" Criterion 6.5 CM/3-15X.
Don't like to re-zero glass on a switch barrel gun- in case I wouldn't have the luxury or time to do so.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

    What’s the general rule? 5,000 for 308, 2500 to 3000 for 6.5?

Yeah, Criterion says 5,000 – 8,000 for 308 and 2000 - 3000 for the 6.5 CM. So easily twice the barrel life. I thought the Creedmoor was a mild enough cartridge that the difference would not be so great.

I guess its just another reminder that free lunches aren't.
