    Having used all Generations... as long as it's reliable (all 9mm versions of 17 &/or 19 have been for me), there hasn't been too much difference for me.

    The "lighter recoil" is minimal and somewhat noticeable, slow benchrest groups from the "Marksman" barrel are smaller with the quality ball ammo I've used, but that's about it.

    I would trust my life to a Gen 2 in a heartbeat.

    Personal preference or desire for a rail. I'm on the hunt for a gen2 G22 eventually.
