    Glocks 20SF and G 20 Gen 4

What are the differences and commonality's

    I have a G21 Gen 4 and have found complete slides for G20SF and G20 Gen 4.
Easier to find a slide than a complete G20 Gen 4.

New to Glocks since the Gen 5 line up.

    Thanks

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I think the SF is a Gen 3 thing, so it will have a different recoil spring assembly. I'm not certain about the large frame Glocks, but I believe a Gen 3 will fit your Gen 4 frame, though there will be a gap between the smaller Gen 3 recoil spring pocket (for lack of a better word) and the larger Gen 4 dustcover. Not a functional issue, but I think some company makes a plug that fills the gap if it bothers you. The dual recoil spring in the Gen 4 was touted as offering better longevity in .40 S&W. Not sure if that's true or just typical Glock marketing, but if true then I'm sure the dual spring is of even greater benefit in 10mm.

Other than that, not much difference. The I think SF frames are the same as a Gen 4 frame without a backstrap.

The finish on Gen 3 slides is much hardier than the finish on Gen 4 slides. Gen 5 is also a great finish. It's not like the gen 4 is terrible, but it definitely wears more easily if that bothers you.

    Gen 3 is kinda boomercore.

The SF frame is okay I guess but the Gen 4 allows more grip sizes, has a better mag release, and is just better imo. I was a diehard G21 person. It went to a good home. But I kinda got out of G21s. But I still have my G20 and for hunting it cannot be beat.

There’s more pros to a Gen 4 than a Gen 3. The only reason to get a Gen 3 anything is if you got like a super good deal.

Basically the Gen 3 SF's are the precursor of the Gen 4 Large frames.

Yes to the G3/G4 recoil spring differences.

FIREFLY, If I use a G20 Gen 4 upper on a G21 Gen 4 lower, will I have issues with the ejector? Is there a difference?

Thanks, This is the info I have been looking for. I'll keep a G21 for 45acp, period.

Even thought about a G22 with Underwood 40 cal ammo. I would change barrel to a KKM or equivalent. Supported chamber.

No. They are the exact same frame. Chronologically, the G21 is merely a rechambered G20. The Ejectors are the same.

10mm and .45 use the same ejector even with very different case diameters?

    Doesn't sound right 🤔

G22 and G31 makes sense, of course.

Part number GLSP08203 for both G20 and G21, different extractors though.
