It is an Arsenal 107UR that had a 16in barrel. So basically it was pre made sbr with an extension to sell as a rifle. He had it coverted by a famous AK gunsmith who's name escapes me at the moment. Had it engraved at the same time.

I bought it years ago and I knew of that engraving but recently I've been thinking about having it removed/fixed

Given that it's a factory built rifle, you'd want to keep as much of the original crappy Arsenal finish as possible and just refinish the barrel. Personally, I'd send it to Two Rivers Arms to fix blackening out the engraving wasn't enough to keep it from bothering me. TRA are excellent welders. They can use the Russian paint to get the finish very close to the Arsenal finish, only better. It won't be cheap and they have a long wait right now, but once you get it back you'll be happy.

God that is cringey. Plus I’m sure we all know how “hail victory” translates into German. Pure class...

I'd guess the prior owner was well aware of the meaning.

It's like changing the markings on a HK94 to MP5.

Fill, buff and finish. Lots of gunsmiths are set up for this. If you do anything less, the half assed covered up engraving is still gonna show.

Without a doubt somebody knew, that isn't a regular use phrase in English. That is as deliberate as Sig rhunes.

Have a competent smith weld, mill, refinish. It’s the only good option. I hope you picked it up for a crazy low price. That engraving is total clown shoes.

Actually it was a Russian guy and the phrase does translate into Russian, unfortunately that's not what it's known for here.

Back in 2010 it came with an aimpoint and a few extras. Unfortunately that aimpoint has since died.

You mean like weld a piece of metal over the words then mill it to where it's flush with the receiver?

My idea was to use this as a backpack gun especially around the days leading up to the election, maybe the day after..... because of the area I work in. On the one hand I thought well, if I had to use it the gibberish scribbled on it would be the least of my worries. But the New Zealand killer, the cop in Los Vegas and now Kyle Rittenhouse.

I wouldn't assume that it doesn't have the same meaning in Russian. Lots of neonazis in Russia these days, to the point that it's not uncommon to see neonazi iconography not so subtly incorporated into military unit patches, like the notorious Azov battalion.

In terms of getting rid of it, about your only real option is to weld and refinish. I wouldn't remove material by milling, grinding, or sandblasting, since it's a stamped receiver and such a large area right there next to the trunnion where it flexes a lot.

I would definitely get rid of it, though, and as soon as humanly possible. Either that or take a dremel and carve three downward arrows across it. Then if you get surrounded by Antifa you can tell them about how it's a war trophy you took off of a dead Nazi.
