Beautiful guns. I love everything about old Smiths.

Point taken, Artos. More correctly, recessed chambers were last used in magnums. My pre-model 10 has recessed chambers.

19-3, Osage Orange (Hedge Apple) grips, slicked up Double Action, removed trigger serrations.
Slick unit.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.
Yeah, the target hammer/target trigger are great for single action, but the target trigger (or even the ribbed one) doesn't work well for double action.

As a handgun hunter (traditional, DA revolvers) I will occasionally shoot single action, but that’s rare.
I need to have DA capability as the scenario/situation nearly always dictate what shot you have.
A 1-1.5 second window to shoot, think narrow opening in heavy cover, nearly always mandates DA.
My usual hunting handguns are “N” Frame, 4”, caliber .4X S&Ws.

Beautiful revolvers! I too love the 19's & 66's. Just picked up this one owner, low, low round count 66-4. Need to change the grips but it's near pristine.
They arrived home a few days ago, and I quickly proceeded with a grip change, combats for the 19 and target football cut for the 66
And then off to the range
This military 25 meters range “tolerates” 38 spl but wad cutters only
They both shot left for me so I had to sight them in
Went to another range in the evening and shot some regular 38 spl. Given my bad experience with my 6 inch 66-2 (2 broken barrels), I think those will mostly shoot 38.
