    M110 contract for Knight's

Congrats to KAC (from today's DoD contract announcements):

Knight's Armament Co.,* Titusville, Florida, was awarded a $13,480,110 firm-fixed-price contract for the M110 semiautomatic sniper system and various M110 configurations. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 25, 2025. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Newark, New Jersey, is the contracting activity (W15QKN-20-D-0044).

How do they plan to co-exist two different 308 guns?

The HK uses proprietary magazines. The SR-25 should have been the main gun.

I have an HK 762 and it is great but it’s not touching an SR-25 for sheer handiness.

Is the M110A1 still happening? Why replace the existing M110 only to order more M110s for the next five years?

Lemme guess...we're giving these away to someone, who will inevitably drop them and runaway, putting them in the hands of people who probably hate us.

Keep seeing references that the HK is only in the DMR format (Sig 1-6x) and has not (and may not) be seen in the CSASS roll with the higher magnification. Likely you'll continue to see KAC M110's possibly with newer Mk 5 or 6 optics for that role.

...at least that's what I've gleaned from the HK nuts and the service types on the Hide...

I'm still wondering about the logic of designating the HK gun the "M110A1".

Am I the only one who feels like they could build an AR10 with off the shelf commercial parts that would outperform the M110 for a fraction of the price?

1500? 2000 rifles? Rifles or the Whole ‘kit’?
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

So that translates to what...1,000 rifles?
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

"Bids were solicited via the internet with one received."

The way the solicitation was written, there really wasn't doubt who was getting the contract....
