    Contagion (film, 2011)

Haven’t seen this posted as a movie recommendation or review. IMDB link here.

This film was released in 2011 and started to have a resurgence on streaming platforms back around May, however I only just watched it for the first time. If you’re into conspiracy you may think this was ‘predictive programming’ given all the correlations to our 2020 situation (e.g. from the film zoonotic transmission from bats, quarantine, ‘The CDC Lies’ flyers being distributed by the fringe blogger, et cetera).
I watched the film as something to do on a Saturday night and it was well done, A list actors, and an interesting storyline. A global pandemic erupts and the CDC’s heros trace it to China and bats, a race for a vaccine is on, and a man tries desperately to save his daughter from quarantine boredom. Maybe wasn’t an Oscar contender, but I found it to be a good film overall. I’d give it four out of five N95 masks. 😷 😷 😷 😷

I saw it when it was new, it is an entertaining movie for sure.

    Here is some predictive programming:

I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit at the time. The character - played by Jude Law IIRC - who was peddling the “miracle cure” was an interesting side plot as well.

Plus I always thought the film had kind of a cool, eerie soundtrack.

Wasn't this based on the book "The Hot Zone?", great book, worth a read.
And then you figure out it was nonfiction.

The Hot Zone is an excellent book; it's a very easy read. I read it multiple times when I was about 11 years old. Some of the information is a bit outdated and melodramatic; Ebola is not as contagious as it's made to sound in the book, nor does it routinely cause victims to spew blood like a fire hydrant (though that's not completely unheard of). But that said, it was written based on what was believed at the time and is very interesting.

Calling a pandemic movie predictive programming is like calling a movie about war in the middle east predictive programming. Its not like we dont know where the reservoir for these virus are, bat->pig->human, bird->pig->human, monkey->human.
