    Elcan optics for Germany

Kind of old news, but regarding the following:

"The sights chosen by the Bundeswehr will have a bullet-drop compensator, or BDC, etched reticle and a Picatinny/STANAG rail integrated into the housing with an ambidextrous, easy-to-use, throw lever to switch instantly between magnifications. The sights have an integrated laser filter to help keep soldiers safer on the battlefield."

Is this considered much of an improvement over the standard configuration?

Looks kinda sleepy... only improvement I see over the SU-230 is the top rail, MAYBE reticle and laser filter. Frankly, bearing in mind I'm a desk wonk, but my understanding is Elcan's stuff is solidly built and good glass but heavy and clunky in its overengineering and even more obscene in its overpricing--the CF guys who helped me build my gal's C8 absolutely HATED their C79's except for having all the adjustments external in the mount.

Beer cans are still nice on a FAL rifle. Maybe not so much on a lightweight carbine.

I wonder if this is why the prices for the normal 1x/4x has went up so high…I checked the other night thinking they’d go down compared to LPVOs. No, in fact, they’re more!
It is from the construction of underground FEMA camps. I can't say more because there a guy parked in front of house in an AMC Pacer. He is acting like he talking on the phone, but I know better.

I have to sign off now & put my laptop in the microwave.
