With your light that far forward mounted do you have any issue with the carbon and muzzle flash messing with the light head assembly?

No function issues yet, I'm over 5K rounds currently. That picture was taken at maybe 2k rounds, so its a bit more black now... I doubt something will happen, but if it does I'm sure Surefire will take care of it.

Surefire X300 mounted at 12 o'clock position. Tape switch on other side of handguard.

With the light at 12 oclock you don't need a pressure pad.
