    That may help you I’d you’re a tightwad and don’t want to buy a comparator. It’ll get you within a thousandth of correct.


    I myself prefer S-Type dies. Sometimes I will use a body-only die behind a universal decapping die for loading on the progressive press. In station three I use a mandrel to fix any dented necks so that it will be good to be trimmed before going in the tumbler.

    After the brass is tumbled, it goes back into the progressive. I will neck-only size with the appropriate S-type neck die or a S-Type FL-die backed out not to touch the body. Then I use a mandrel again, throw powder, and seat.

    I have never had an issue with donuts or brass that won’t chamber. I typically bump the shoulder 0.002-0.003” for bolt guns or .308 gas guns. 5.56 I size til it fits the chamber check gauge.
