It looks boring but it works. I have toys to hunt with but my main rifle looks boring and just shoots
Currently, I grab the 16” Colt CCU upper on MARS A5 lower. Usually just a red dot.
I am absolutely confident that when everything gets down to the nitty gritty, I go for my Colt 6920. From point blank to 300 yds, I will damage someone. It has never malfunctioned in ten years. I only use Okay/NHMTG/Colt/PMag magazines. Optic is a Vortex Spitfire 3X and recently added the LaRue MBT-2S trigger. I'm GTG with this set-up.
My BCM mini recce has become my favorite.

I have 2,one is a 6920 with a colt 14.5 m4 barrel (p&w) with an acog,geissele ssa and ras,the other is an aero with a government contract socom barrel,eotech 512 and a ras.they are very similar but have very different purposes.i have a few others,but the seldom see any substantial use.
For me it’s my 11.5 inch Geissele
