The Communist Manifesto was published in 1848 with Marx, Engels, and others doing their thing for years prior. The revolutions in Europe occurred in 1848 with a heavy influence from Marxists, Communists, or whatever you like to call them.

The revolutions failed with many of the revolutionaries being imprisoned. Carl Schurz, Franz Sigel, and Fritz Anneke were a few of the big names that managed to escape Europe and click with the early Republican party with plenty of their lesser known comrades gravitating to the party as well.

Years ago one of the forums I was on had a discussion about a Texas town during the civil war where the recent german emigrants didn't fare too well. The collective wisdom was the mean old Democrat Confederate stealing from the industrious Germans(which could have been the case), but I also figure it was equally likely the inhabitants didn't like the leftist slant that German emigrants of the time seemed inclined to. Kind of like how a church in Boston kicked Francis Bellamy (author of the pledge of allegiance and a devout socialist masquerading as a Baptist minister) kicked him to the curb once they noticed he really was.

My teacher was born on Hawaii and recalls how a neighbor wearing a makeshift uniform and carrying a sword began to round up locals in preparation for a Japanese landing. LOTS of Japanese were fifth columnists and deserved to end up in confinement, but lots of regular families, especially on the mainland did nothing but lost their homes and businesses anyway. It was done simply because it was easier to ID a Japanese American rather than a German or Italian American and generally the Japanese had only been here for one or two generations.

The FBI also put Germans and Italians into internment camps, but they had to have done something or been investigated and considered a strong risk for that to happen.

So yeah, FDR was very guilty of blanket, racism of a group that was easily to exploit.

And my teacher also remembers his mother telling him how other Japanese neighbors explained what was happening and threw in with the natives. By the next day, all of the Japanese who tried to round up trouble makers were themselves rounded up.

There is racism in America. You’ll find it in just about any leftie/liberal you can find. It’s been running rampant through the left for decades/centuries . It’s easy to see. Too many people just don’t want to look.
