FNC lower receiver using Bulgarian 5.56 mags...

I was just thinking that since an FNC is kind of a NATO version of an AK yet it might be nice to have the AK manual of arms with the rock and lock mags.

IIRC the lower receiver of an FN is not the serialized part. It might be cool to have a lower using Bulgarian 5.56 AK mags.

Applied to an NFA transferable FNC this could make it a a kind of poor mans AK.

Seems like a lot of work for a step backwards.

I’ve thought about the same in the past. But if one was going to mill new FNC lowers, I think doing AK5C/D lowers with the bolt catch by using the cassette type bolt catch from the SCAR would be the way to go.

I remember back when the Magpul Masada was still in development there was a lower receiver variant that utilized Bulgarian 5.56 AK mags. Never really made sense to me. Kind of a moot point because we all know how things turned out with the Masada.
