But on a serious note, I see lots of Potential for this new mag in many markets... And it helps the industry grow and in-turn push’s not only accessory markets but also the weapons side too! This is a exciting time to be a part on this industry!!

Agree totally. I am looking forward to my sample coming.

Most likely just a high quality CS spring. These are what we using in our guns (buffer springs and mags springs). They tend to have a 100,000 round count!

I think Richard's initial intent in joining the thread was to address the comment that "somebody feels that Magpul isn't living up to expectations, and has proposed a better idea." Things went off topic and down hill from there.

Regardless, I think it's great that Tango Down is entering the market with something different than what is currently available. Innovation and competition are good for everyone who wants to keep prices low and quality high. I've said this before, but I'll say it again here: occasionally we all lose sight of the big picture when business enters the conversation. Regardless of who makes what, in the grand scheme of things we're all on the same team fighting for our rights, and trying to get the best gear we can into the hands of those who go into harms way on our behalf. We would all do well to remember that from time to time.

I'll step off my soap box now in hopes that this thread can get back on topic. Congratulations to the team at Tango Down on being one step closer to bringing this magazine to market! From what I've read so far, it appears you did your homework and I'm sure this will be a very successful product. Cheers, fellas. I can't wait to give these a try!

Hmm- I use CS Buffer Springs also, TS and ISMI. Hopefully that's the case. $25 per mag is about the same price as a PMAG+ISMI spring.
I wouldn't mind having one or two of the version with the rubber seal. It's a great idea for a primary mag.

There's a couple page thread on these over at LF on the Primary Weapons Board. It goes back to Feb, after the SHOT Show, and picks up recently w/Jeff Cahill providing some background.

Regarding cleaning, Jeff responded you would use water and compressed air. There will be a Maritime version that will allow water to escape, but not enter through a one-way drain. I'm assuming these are special order.

Kind of interesting that there's no floorplate to come undone during a dropped mag, but I'm not sure how you could utilize/attach any aftermarket Mapuls or Ranger Plates for easy grabbing from a chest rig.

No idea if spring is CS or standard, but Jeff did claim these would outlive a GI aluminum mag by a factor of four.

    Drama aside:

I really dont need anymore mags, but then I dont need as many AR's as I have either - and constantly am looking for new innovative designs.

I wash mags in a dishwasher if I think they really need to be cleaned...

Thanks to the guys who addressed my concerns about this mag. Maybe I'll take a look at them when they come out.

Best wishes to TD on their venture. Best wishes to all who compete in the pursuit of the highest quality components. We will all benefit.

Re: The TD mags- I'm anxious to see how they do, and am looking forward to shaking them down. Living, working, and shooting in fine silt and gumbo gives me some concern about any inability to clean them, but we'll see. I suspect that the targeted end-users aren't as concerned about that, as they will use the mags and leave them where they lie. Who knows.

Re: Pat- Running the man down does no one, nor any venue, any service. His mention in this thread has far exceeded the extent to which he's on-topic, and is now in bad taste, at least.
