Are any USSOCOM units involved in the testing of these magazines? USSOCOM members?
Or were they just designed for them?
There is a prominant mention of "WARCOM" on the press release, so that should be a hint...

7.62? As in 7.62x51mm? As in SR25 pattern? Now you have my attention.

The market is really lacking a strong polymer sr25 pattern mag. Last I saw, SR25 pattern mags had unsupported feed lips!

All, we have a line of ARC magazines, both 5.56 and 7.62 for a few weapon systems.

    Stay tuned-
I respectfully suggest you re-evaluate what you view as the Dance

I admire your ability to swing a no competition hook up to build an accessory for a developing weapon system, but that is not the Dance

The Dance was fought on the streets of Fallujah, Najaf, Mosul and Kabul over the last few years and winding down with the surge, mid this year.

The PMag was over there supporting those who needed a reliable, composite magazine most and the Dance sounded allot like this email we received during one of the most violent months in Iraq…

“My platoon was just recently in a really bad fire fight in one of the worst areas in Iraq. We went through hundreds of 5.56 rounds. Every one who was using the issued standard metal mags were getting jams and miss feeds left and right. Out of my 8 magazines I bought from your company I went through all of them twice and I only had on miss feed from a bent round. When the other guys on my vehicle would have a jam they relied on me to cover them while the corrected the malfunction. There is no doubt in my mind that due to me having your magazines is the reason that we didn’t take any serious causalities.”

So thanks but I am pretty happy with the PMag participation in the Dance.

Wow, either USGI mags really suck and need to be phased out or the military are being cheap and not equiping the troops with new mags.

The problem is with the Military, they don't want to admit there is a problem with GI mags. They will issue them out over and over until they are completely destroyed.
Most brand new GI mags are fine. It's the worn out mags that have been left in service because it's too much paperwork to toss the shitty ones out.
Polymer mags are the way of the future, and American company's as a whole were a little late to that Dance. However, with great American companies Like Magpul, Tango Down, and Lancer, we are finally catching up.

    FWIW,
When I go to Iraq, and I go often, my P-Mags are waiting for me to be filled up.

For the past few years troops could buy their own personal magazines. Before the AWB sunset, there have been horror stories about about troops being issued lowest bidder mags, especially with the Beretta's. The sad truth is that Logistics has more say in what gets adopted then Ordnance. Their view is they have thousands of mags in the supply system. If one is unserviceable replace it. Unfortunately, this is easier said then done. I remember painting worn mags with Solid Film Lubricant before Armory inspections. The stuff wouldn't stick, even after attempts at degreasing. Pretty dumb since mags cost the tax payer about $3 apiece. Also, there isn't any gages or ways to measure the mags feedlips for serviceability. At least, I wasn't privy to one. The military will adopt a new rifle before new mags are issued with the M4/M16 for general issue.

    Rich,

Again, you're mistaken. The dance I referred to is not the war, but a solicitation that has come and gone. You accuse us of manipulating a Government program? You should thoroughly understand US Military procurement before you post, especially on TangoDown threads. Since we are IP's, I suggest you take it to IM.
