I would rather shoot a moose or elk with a 140-156-gr bonded (e.g. Nosler AccuBond, Norma Oryx) 6.5mm/.264" bullet than with anything available in .277".

I do not believe that bullets of such weight are available loaded for 6.5mm Grendel and, moreover, I'm reasonably certain that given the Grendel's short cartridge case, it would not be possible to load them without severely reducing the powder capacity of the cartridge.

Given the success many old school local hunters have had with 22-250s loaded with 60-gr Nosler Partitions in humanely harvesting elk, I can think of no reason why a 5.56mm rifle loaded with similar traditional bullets (Nosler Partitions and Swift A-Frames) or more modern bonded and all-copper bullets (Speer Gold Dot/Federal Fusion, Hornady GMX, Barnes TTSX/TSX) could not be used to similar effect.

I don't know about today but, when the Grendel first came out, I ran some super heavy factory loads and they penetrated deeply. Today those old classic Lapua bullets from the "WW II era" seem to have been replaced by more modern lighter options.

Like the Swede, if you can find some of the ~170gr loads, they will penetrate deeply in heavy game animals just like the old 7mm Mauser. ~2400fps with a good bullet will do the job even in today's advertisement driven caliber crazed market.

A 223 is gods plenty for deer, caribou and black bear. You might be stretching it a little bit on elk, brown bear, and moose.
If you use a high-quality bullet such as sierra 69gr TMK. You will be just fine.

This is poor advice and should be disregarded.

Lol, your lack of Practical knowledge is showing. This is a link to a hunting forum for people that actually hunt, not argue about the validity of an in Mlok rail system Page after page of deer, bear, a few caribou, and even a moose killed with 77TMK and 69Tmk. If you have any questions about what a .223 can do with 77TMK, 69gr Tmk that should be plenty of evidence.
But what the hell do I, I guess the 25 deer, 3 antelope, 10 hogs, and 1 black bear all died of fright.

    Nope, TmkÂ’s wonÂ’t kill a deer

55, 62, 64, and 75 grain Speer Gold Dots are Good to go

Hornady 75 and 88gr AMAX/ELD-M are good to go.

77gr Tipped MatchKing is the best choice of the .224Â’s. fitting them into a mag and maintaining case capacity can be a issue, but can be done.
69 gr Tmk loaded to mag length, with 23gr of ar-comp will push them out of a 16in barrel around 2880-2900fps which is in fact gods plenty to hunt with!

    No one/he, didn't claim they wouldn't die.

Back on track, a .22 caliber bullet (where legal), assuming adequate construction/weight and placement, can indeed kill deer/antelope-sized game. To assume the same for larger game, absent relevant criteria is uninformed at best

Agreed unless being extremely selective with shots. What I have seen is bullet failure on quartering shots and excessive meat damage.

70 gr TSX is much better.

70 gr Tsx are better at penciling through... that is it. Why would you shoot a mono in .223? Lead free requirement?

Do you eat a lot of rib meat?
