Back on track, a .22 caliber bullet (where legal), assuming adequate construction/weight and placement, can indeed kill deer/antelope-sized game. To assume the same for larger game, absent relevant criteria is uninformed at best
I read through the Rokslide link Red put up, might have to rethink a little on the .223.
One poster just put up pics of 4 cow elk he shot with 77TMK’s all look pretty darn dead!
A lot of hunters in Alaska use a AR for Caribou and even moose. The most common load is the 62gr and 70gr TSX. Shot placement is the key and precise shot taken most under 100 yards. Moose a high neck shot will collapse the moose quickly. The 77MK is great defense load but no way I would use it on game. A cool precisely placed shot is a must with the 5.56.

Go spend some time on the 68 forum. Lots of animals down with that cartridge.
