Unless they also demonstrate the performance characteristics others have, I tend to think human produced drone of some kind and that seemed to be line with what that article indicates. If those "drones" had taken off from 0 to mach 10 in the blink of an eye as others have, would be more compelling.

Never seen that one. I'm really surprised he/they were willing to talk about it at the time. They were universally told to shut up and not talk about it as a rule as mil or commercial, and doing so could end your career. Of course during WWII pilots gave them nick name "Foo Fighters" so the powers that be didn't know what they were talking about. One reason people have real difficulty believing what we are seeing now is human tech because they have been with us since at least WWII, and no one would have been remotely close to producing anything that could perform as they do at that time: https://www.history.com/news/wwii-uf...s-foo-fighters

It seems more likley that what ever they are, they have been around thousands of years, but at a minimum, since WWII.

I suspect this has always been the case. In most of history, extreme stupidity was likely to get you a Darwin award, thus removing you from the gene pool. Nowadays, it's likely to get you a seat in Congress, or a reality TV show.

Yup. Exactly. Being successful and "surviving" doesn't necessarily go to the smarter ones like it used to be. Being richer and knowing the right people helps you a lot more. So the leaders that people look up to can be absolute freaking morons. As we already know.

I'm not sure what you are getting at. There was no leaded gasoline at all way back when.
