Could Trump Sign Executive Order For CCW Reciprocity?

    So yea...

Could Trump Sign Executive Order For CCW Reciprocity?

I've heard talk it should be considered like a drivers license and said he'd sign if landed on his desk but is it within the President's power do make such a "law" and would it stand or could it be defeated/overturned with another pen stroke?

Hopefully he wakes up and starts using his remaining tine to make some useful decisions instead of fighting the election... which is another story!

All it takes to cancel out one EO is another... you can bet the Rescind would be waiting for Biden to hit the Resolute Desk.

That only works if it's a dim doing the rescinding, but really with the attempted theft of the Presidency ongoing you are thinking about this? I do believe the POTS has more important things on his mind right now.

No. That would require legislation. He can sign EOs that change interpretations of existing legislation. Otherwise, they wont survive court challenges. There is no legislation that directly addresses national CCW so...no.

Large body of existing immigration law. When President Obama tried to expand his EO/Memorandom without legislation, the Courts struck it down. That is why legislation, the "DREAM Act" was introduced.

Legislation, Congress, EOs, blah, blah blah, it don't matter.
Trump/GOP won't be doing anything for CCW reciprocity, and thank Yahweh for that - it's really not important, and they have far more critical things to do. They can't waste their precious time left in office on CCW stuff. They have to do critical things like lifting Jonathan Pollard's parole conditions (he's already been out of prison for a few years, but oppressed by not being allowed to travel back to Israel), assassinating Iranians left, right and center, hopefully invading Iran for democracy, giving more arms to Saudi Arabia, cracking down on anyone supporting the BDS "movement" (there ARE limits to the 1st Amendment, after all - criticizing Israel is beyond the pale, unlike White Privilege training and such, which IS covered by the 1st Amendment).
Trump = greatest POTUS ever. Better even than Reagan.

EO? Forget about it. Federal legislation? Forget about it.

National Reciprocity is just a gimmick for the NRA and so-called pro-gun politicians to raise money and votes from gun owners. Who actually believes that the federal government could successfully force states like New Jersey to allow Tennesseans to carry in their state when New Jersey won't even allow their own residents to carry?

Precisely. The federal government doesn't even secure the border apart from a few miles of bollard fencing here and there, so it damn sure isn't going to push hard on anything else, except of course on the most critical issues which they are in office to enact/enforce - protecting and expanding Israel and Jewish interests. I love this country.

If 2nd amendment rights were handled in the same manner as desegregation...and really that should be the case...then I would assume they would fold up quick.

Not an absolute supporter of the civil war, but once it ended and everyone came under the federal constitution instead of states that should have been that.

We would hear Tombstone, Arizona and think about most of the local government, including many adult males from one family and a crime prone dentist, getting shot up or hauled off for their attempt at depriving citizens of their liberties.
