    SAS: Iranian Embassy Siege (2002)

I never saw 6 Days because one of the lads who was there, said it sucked. I don't generally watch movies about modern mil events unless someone who was there, and or an SME, at least says it's accurate/GTG.

Otherwise, I can just read the articles, and such like everyone else and skip the "creative license" taken by the film makers who think it's OK to change the details to give us "based on true events" nonsense... So, someone who was there, SAS trooper Robin Horsfall, said that documentary (1) was spot on for accuracy and such. Any ones see it?

I can't find it online anywhere I have looked so far. Figured it would be easy enough to find on Amazon, Netflix, etc, but no love.

I liked 6 Days as a standalone flick, but realize there were inaccuracies.

I had not heard of the movie you linked. I do vaguely recall Who Dares Wins (1982), which I liked.

Yea I tried looking for the credits - no luck. Guess this will be background noise for the next hour.

Although not a documentary per se, The Final Option is an enjoyable movie from that time that includes some elements of the siege.

The other name was The Final Option. It’s on iTunes and is a fun movie, even now though it’s kinda dated.

Six Days was good. Don’t look at it as a documentary, just enjoy it for what it is.

Pretty sure this is it, as it matches the 1st half that Robin Horsfall uploaded to his Youtube page (Old Boy)

Watching. Hopefully its the right one. Picking up a few facts I didn't know, such as it was an Iraqi op. Interesting the Iranian's had no security other than one Brit cop with a revolver who was smart to wait as he did to be most effective. When a terrorist from another country takes over an embassy of another country (neither of which the host nations likes...) it's up to the host nation to deal with it? I wish they could hang back and tell the Iranians to send a team to deal with it. Their people, their embassy, their problem.

It appears the SAS were not their to take prisoners at all. I wonder if the take no prisoners policy has been pre decided.

"Mac" is exactly how I imagine an old school SAS trooper to look and act like.

    Best line:

Interviewer: "did you shout a warning before you shot him?"

No, we shot him, he had a hand grenade so we just shot him." (big grins)

Their #1 priority was to rescue the officer Lock. I didn't know that until this show. I wonder had the terrorists only had Iranian's if they would have even bothered sending the lads.

I lol'd for real when Mac tells "Maggy" to "move her f-ing head" for blocking the TV post op.

Total assault took 11 mins, but their stun and smoke grenades set the embassy on fire.
