Entry-level 1911 will always be Springfield for me. Not that they’re 100% out of the box, but their customer service and warranty will make it better than new. The Range Officer series is priced reasonably and the “Operator” version has the rail.
We have an entire sub-forum dedicated to 1911s with many threads about 1911s in 9mm. You might consider looking there.

Yea, best bang for the buck, Springer Range Officer.

I have a Colt .38 super that I recently got a Brown 9mm "drop in" barrel to convert to 9 x 19. After a little recoil spring experimentation it runs great. My answer is Colt but I've had Springfields that have been great once they returned from the mothership for warranty work. Their CS is second to none and it was no cost to me.
If you can track down a Springer Elite Operator in 9mm, that's hands down the best bang for your buck that you'll ever see.
I think the biggest question is "do you already own a 1911?"
If this is an addition to an already existing 1911 in your inventory, I'd suggest the Springfield.
If you're just "wanting" a 1911 and never owned one, I'd say go with the Rock Island 9mm version to see if it's something you like. It's a good entry level 1911 that won't break the bank if it's something you find you don't like later on.

If only there was a section on 1911's, oh wait...

Gettin' down innagrass.
Let's Go Brandon!
Yep, got it. Go to the 1911 section. Sorry, new to this forum, still getting used to it.
Yes I already own two 1911s but both are 45 ACP. Just wondering if there was a decent 9mm version as I heard they are different in performance. Thanks for the input. Will GB search and see what is out there.

I run a 5" STI DutyOne. Has been great, works flawlessly.
Probably have 20K rounds, maybe 25K through it.
Haven't played with the new STI's, but hear they are still pretty good.
