    Surefire x300 Upgrade

Hopefully this isn’t too stupid of a question...
I currently have a x300 that I’d like to convert to a x300v with IR capability.
Is there a direct head replacement for the x300 to do this or should I just buy a x300v?

I have three x300's and none of them have a replaceable head. At least I cannot figure out how to remove it.
That being said, I broke the lens in one of them. I contacted surefire on how to replace. They had me send it to them and it came back with a new lens. I know it was my actual x300 by some identifying marks I knew I had on it. The lens was indeed new and 100% solid again. Surefire magic I guess. Makes me believe they coupld replace a bulb too if needed.
That was almost 10 years ago and Surefire customer service was good and fast. I have not used them since, so I cannot say how long or even if you will get a response this day in age, but try e-mailing or calling and see if you can convert it to a V version.

Sell your X300 and buy an X300V is the only option you have.

If you can be patient and depending on budget, Modlite announced they will be releasing a pistol light that will still fit x300 holster platforms.

Cory (owner of Modlite) has been announcing it from time to time on social media. His plan is for it to fit existing holsters made for x300.

A shot in the dark, but I would bet a new light would me made to fit the x300u line since the x300s are almost obsolete. Still, I want more info.
