WML on a third generation Glock 23

Is is possible to put a WML on a third generation Glock 23 without compromising reliability?

    Yes. Best practice...

install 11-coil springs in standard capacity G23 magazines
don't over-tighten the light on the frame
    use standard velocity 180gr rounds

Never had any problems in about 20k with a 23.3. Never upgraded mag springs.

Finger tight plus a quarter turn and done.
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand

Understood. Best practice, not required practice.

And that info was Glock's advice to users that were experiencing .40/WML combination issues.

    Absolutely it was.

Disciple, just be aware that some 40 cal Glocks that are reliable with weapon mounted lights develop into being unreliable with weapon mounted lights.

I have had good and bad experiences with multiple 40 cal Glocks and WMLs over the years. I don't want to go into it. But the information I mentioned above is something you should be aware of.

Any advice on using G22 and extended 22 round magazines in a G23?

Only the usual, verify function with chosen combination. If using a G22 magazine in a WML-equipped G23, I would put the 11 coil springs in the mags.

As ggammell notes, it may not be necessary.

The X300U-A is probably your best bet in regards to lights. I'd avoid the TLR series and X300U-B. I'd wager a large majority of the problems stem from mongoloids cranking them down too tight coupled with the characteristics of how .40 Cal glocks shoot.

I put an 11-coil spring in a G23 magazine and I cannot get the last (13th) round in. The original spring is 9-coil. Should I get a 10-coil spring?
